History of AFNI updates

I was trying to install AFNI on my
workstation(Mac OS X Panther on G5). After playing around a bit both with the binary
and source, I'm stuck with a problem that it seems others have faced as
well. There is a conflict of symbol definitions in two library files -
one that comes with Apple's X11, and another that comes with Openmotif
(installed by fink). Surprisingly, no one talks about a solution. The
afni precompiled version fails for the same reason, while trying to load
the dynamic lib. The specific problem is like:
dyld: ./afni multiple definitions of symbol __XEditResCheckMessages
/usr/local/lib/libXm.2.dylib(EditresCom.lo) definition of
__XEditResCheckMessages
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXmu.6.dylib(EditresCom.o) definition of
__XEditResCheckMessages

Did anybody face this problem ?
