Hi all,
Thanks for responding.
You're right Philips produces DICOM images. However were probably going to avoid them since with the PAR/REC format we get only two files as opposed to the (possibly) several thousand files you get with DICOM (correct me if I'm wrong here) I was talking to a Philips rep yesterday and this is what i was told.
This had he added advantage of reducing the amount of disk space devoted to book keeping (two inodes versus (possibly) thousands in unix parlance).
I found the perl script to convert par/rec to afni briks at [
tesla.cdfi.uab.edu] However since I've only got one small DTI file it became very grumpy and wouldn't work. I'll be getting another T1 weighted anatomical file next week and will be able to give it a go again.
If you're interested I will be able to provide you with numerous PAR/REC files if you wanted to add such support to AFNI. Our 3T Philips scanner is in the process of being commissioned.
Thanks for you time,
Regards,
Colm.
