AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

It is possible that the data is being read out of the file in the wrong location. One way to test for this would be to try reading one such file like so:

aiv 3D:-1:0:256:256:1:filename.dcm

(assuming that this is a 256x256 image of shorts) and see if the image looks better. This method of reading the image will skip the DICOM header entirely and simply read the final 256x256x2=131072 bytes out of the file and format it into a 256x256 image.

aiv = AFNI Image Viewer program, by the way.
