AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Let me start by saying that I really like this program. I've always been a big fan of doing QC on data first, and this tool helps simplify that step.

However, when I teach people to do QC, I have them look at 3 things. One is the motion curves - which this program handles nicely.

The second is the outlier plot (for example, from 'to3d -save_outliers ...' ). It would be nice if there was an option to add this data to the screen as a seventh graph. I may well try to do this myself; I only know a smidgen of python, but it looks like it would be easy enough to do.

The final, most important, thing I have people look at are the EPI data. What would really kick a** and make me love this program in a dirty way would be if there was another graph that was the timecourse of the current voxel in AFNI. That is, as you click around the brain in AFNI, the graph in censor.py would change as well. All accomplished through some AFNI plugout magic (probably via repeated polling in censor.py). Mind you, I don't think that the current plugout interface has any provision for returning data such as the timecourse (is that correct, Bob?). But that may not be hard to add.

Thoughts?

Thanks again for a great program.
Tom
