You tell adwarp which warp parent to use via the '-apar'
option. It does not do any directory scanning. But afni
is an interactive viewing program, it is going to scan
your directory and try to figure out the correct thing to
display in every case.
Yes, the 3dinfo bounding box is accurate, and does not
depend on the orientation. But the bounding box on the
functional tlrc dataset is not relevant when afni applies
a different warp for its display. At that point, it is not
even using the func+tlrc dataset.
Did you try what I said? Did you create the functional
tlrc datasets and then move the orig _functional_ datasets
out of that directory? Just make a directory with only
tlrc datasets.
