AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi Wolfgang,

The statistical analysis programs do not (at all, as far as I know)
adjust for time offsets of brick slices when computing the statistics.
In general, users are basically expected to do that on their own
(most of the programs do not presume to decide what the user
really wants to do).

So 3dfim+ (or 3dDeconvolve) would not return different results
for those cases. You should really correct for that before even
registering the time series with 3dvolreg, by using the 3dTshift
program. Alternatively, if you don't mind the times adjusted to
the mid-point of the TR, you can do it by adding the -tshift option
to 3dvolreg (the mid-TR time is used to make the shift as small
as possible, overall).

A good bet is to habitually use 3dTshift before 3dvolreg.

This is not automatic because different users have different
situations/preferences.
