AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi,
Just to clarify a bit (in the hopes that someone out there may know what is going on with this voxel of interest):
1. Study had 2 control tasks followed by 4 memory tasks (A1 A2 M1 M2 M3 M4)
2. Conducted 3Ddeconvolve on indidividual subjects
3. Used 3dANOVA2 with "-acontra -2 -2 1 1 1 1" to examine BaselinevMemory task effect.
4. The -t stats were related to Baseline & one of the voxels from 3dclust was a region in right PFC that was more active (-ve t value) for Baseline tasks vs Memory (this is consistent with the AFNI display function result too)...this was all done with the Tailarached images.
4. Extracted this voxel peak from the snr*.img using a MNI coords (tal2mni was used to convert) and plotted mean activity for each task...surprisingly the plot shows that the standardized raw activity for this voxel is +ve for the Memory tasks and -ve for the Baseline tasks..this seems to imply that this region is more active during Memory tasks. However, the AFNI -t value suggests that it is more related to the Baseline task. The only explanation I can come up with is that this voxel has a negative beta value. Does this seem the plausible reason for this effect?

Thanks for your help
