AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi,
Sorry for not being clearer. My control task is NOT my baseline. I have baseline measures for all three tasks in my design. My contral task is another cognitive task which 'controls' for certain processes involved in my memory tasks.

My recent issue is that though my AFNI contrast effect shows a region as being more active during my memory task versus my control task. When I plot the time series for the peak from this regional activation I see a negative BOLD response for my memory tasks but not my control task. Moreover, when I do a post-hoc t-test at the TR that I selected for running my -tcontrast in 3dAnova using Excel, I find that this post-hoc ttest says this activation is NOT significantly different between memory vs. control tasks. So, I am left with the following questions: 1. why is my contrast result the opposite of my time series which show greater negative BOLD for my memory tasks versus control task and 2. why doesn't the post-hoc t-test for this region agree with the AFNI 3dANOVA ttest?

Thanks
N
