Hi Anjali,
For any drawing operation, the value that gets drawn into
the dataset is exactly what is listed in the 'Value' box of the
plugin interface.
Once the value has been drawn into the dataset, the colors
are based on the "Define Overlay" panel in the normal way.
For example, if afni is opened with the default color scheme,
then drawing a "1" into the dataset produces colors in red.
Changing the drawing "Value" to a 3 and then drawing a new
figure would result in the new figure coming out red (with a
value of 3), but the regions filled with a value of 1 would now
turn green.
It sounds like the reverse happened to you. If you initally draw
with a Value of 10, you will (appear to) be drawing in red. If
you then change the Value to 1, you will (appear to) be drawing
in dark green.
This is based purely on how the numbers are mapped in the
"Inten" colorbar. Just note that if you change the range of the
dataset (by adding a larger value, say), then the colors of the
old values may change.
