Thanks again for your help. I tried the suma version from your previous post. No luck there, same issue. But, I also was able to test a couple of other things as well.
First, I was able to compile suma from source, which brought back the errors from my first post, but did not solve the white brain issue.
Second, I went back to your suggestion to switch to XAA acceleration. When I originally tried this option, everything on the screen was distorted. However, that was with the fc10 xorg-x11-drv-i810 driver. This time I tried downgrading to the fc9 version of the driver and then adding the [Option "AccelMethod" "XAA"] line to my xorg.conf file. This configuration actually got rid of the distortion, but also did not solve the white brain issue.
So, no luck here.
